Beaded wrist warmer (for my sister)

This is my first knitted work with beads. I have made this wrist warmer for my sister. I have used two techniques -yarn provisional cast on, and Three needles bind-off. I have used knitted needle size 2mm. It is free pattern, but I have used my own taste to change the color of yarn, and beads too.

The sweater again

I forget to say that I have add that crochet picot to its collar . I didn't like the knitted edge of it.

My sweater

This is its color as the Camera finally gives me its own right color. I show in first picture the seaming of the sleeve , and how it seems because as I said I have seamed the whole sweater using invisible seaming.

Some videos to share

Some detailed

This is my first sweater. I have made it using needle size 4mm. I have learned many things during working this sweater. I have learned invisible seaming , cable cast on, making one row buttonhole , picot bind-off. I have seamed it using invisible seaming not just the shoulders seaming, but sides, and sleeves too.

I am so slow knitter LOL I have spent more than 2 months doing this sweater. I made it for myself as a gift because I have passed the exam , and want to give myself a special gift with thrill too. I was so afraid to wearing it, and discover it is not good as I think. I actually love it, it is so beautiful-in my own opinion of course LOL.

Jacket and hat for my niece

She is 5 months , and I have make this jacket ,its hat, and also the crochet slipper she wears. she plays with its yarn. LOL I think she like the slipper Doesn't she. LOL.

Slipper for my mum

This is a slipper for my mum. I have made this slipper with two needles using a wrap and turn (W&T) technique ,and complete its final touch by five double pointed needles. It is very simple, and easy, but I like it. It is comfortable and beautiful. I have used two different strand of yarn to make this effect, then make one color for the final finishing.

Finally Lily has passed the exam!

finally I have passed the exam of this diploma. This diploma is about investment, trading, stock law. I also have studied something about trading arbitration law. I specific love the arbitration system, and also the electronic arbitration. It was really hard time, and hard examination system. I had to passed the written exam first, then the oral one with new books, then make a research about stock, and got an exam about this research. So I finally have passed all these hard examination , and be free again -for while-to make my knitting , crochet, and sewing. I have passed this diploma with grad "good" it was about 180 out of 200 , but still just good grade.
Thanks God so so much for helping me pass all these hard time, specially this year was really hard and strange ; full of important and sad events.
I really thank my mum so so much for all her efforts with me, and for her supporting, also for her praying. I also thank my sister so much for her efforts-ironing my clothes, prepared something for breakfast-I felt as I was a child LOL. Thanks for all my brothers because of their concerning, asking, and supporting.
I specially thanks so so much my lovely dear friends Barb, and Christa. I thank my dear sweet Christa for her trust of me; she always telling me that I will pass the exam. She always believe that even if when I doubt. thanks her also for her praying every time I needed. Thanks so much dear Christa. I also thank so so much my lovely dear Barb who really support me even if in hard time. I also thank Barb so much for her kindness praying for me. I love her praying so much. Thanks so much my dear Barb. Thanks for all of them, and Thanks God again.

My designed sock (for my mum)

This is my second designed sock. I have used circular needle size 2.25. I like to design socks , and consider this first step to make something bigger. I have learned to change flat patterns to be circular , and I know some rules for this mission now. I have also learned to look at socks from many prospectors. for second time I designed the toe part as it is part of the pattern. I like to call that "extended design". I don't see it something big, but I have learned many great things. This sock will be for my mum. "Hope she will like it"

My own designed sock

This is my own designed sock. It is not the first one, but it is the first complete one. I have designed two, but didn't complete them yet. This one is the simplest one of them. I love it specially that its stitch is really simple and beautiful just purl and knit. I also think it can be a sock for men or women . of course it is my own opinion. I also love its ribbing part because it is not the usual ribbing. When I have a time -it is studying time-I will write its pattern.

Anklet sock

This is lovely sock with beautiful stitch; I wanted to give it a try. I just have changed a bit its pattern because I have made it with yarn not cotton as the original pattern. I also will give you a link to its pattern if you want to give it a try to.

New Sun in Egypt

I thought about what I can say or write in this day, and don't know what I can write. It is new day in our life. very new day in every and each thing. It is new even if inside me.

I thought to write about what this regime , and his president did with us, and how spoiled everything here, but discovered that I will re-write the same history of every tyrant existed , so nothing new I will add.

I think I will write about what things changed inside me, what happened inside me in those 18 days, what I discovered, and realized.
I discovered that I didn't know my people well, and I should to know them more. I discovered what one world means as I saw many protesters all over the world stand to say No to this tyrant for us. I found myself wait many comments , supporting , SMS, and e-mailes from all over the world. I loved to see many e-mails form my friends all over the world worry about me, and my country. many of them prayed for us. I always read about fighting tyranny , dictatorship , but those day have taught me what fighting means, and what should to be , and pay to get rid of them.
I have studied law, political systems, and never live these principles as we never have law of state. I have known that, but I never know the limit of this dictatorial system until I saw it face to face. I realized what mean when you put the whole state , and whole people in one hand- horrible thing. There is distance between to know, and to realize, to read, and to see. Many lawful meaning manifested to my mind as if I didn't and never study them. I have discovered what sharing in political life means; it is a duty, and necessity for each one wants his/her country not to get back. The problem with me was I didn't say any political party deserves to share or work with even if the party I respected . Why? because I saw it play inside the game not out of it. I really couldn't play or handle with this system as I saw it play by us not with us as political parties . I realized what civic institutions means, and their roles too.
I realized what first breath means, and what new birth means too.
Actually I realized many many many things more than I can record or write about.

one thing stills inside me,that I feel so sad, and cannot feel a real happy inside me because I know that many many people who did and share us this victory are not here any more. They cannot enjoy what they did because they are dead now. We believe they are martyrs , but I cannot feel happy without them .

The lovely problems with the mitten

Of course I didn't do it yet. I am trying to do it. This mitten is free pattern, but it is really lovely. It has crook stitch , twined stitches, and three thread cast on; I didn't know anyone of them. After I have started it, I asked myself what is the difference between crook stitch, and twined stitch? specially there are twined knit, twined purl, and also alternative twined purl, and knit. The only difference is we twisted the two yarns to make twined stitches (braid) , but we don't twist them in crook stitch. Or it is the difference I found. LOL

I have countered another problem -holding the yarns. I have found the previous video , and it is really helpful, and useful, but I should to untwist the yarns after each round. It is not like holding two yarns or more in fair-Isle or colorful work because in Fair-Isle we can use the two methods of holding yarn to avoid mixing them; we cannot do this here. we must twist yarns to execute the twined stitches.

Some special techniques

I have read a pattern for a mitten , and discovered something strange lol. The strange thing is this pattern has many techniques I don't know. Of course when I do something I counter one thing I don't know, but this pattern has many things I don't know. That is why I love it. Thanks for the lady who design it, and for all ladies and the Mr who made these wonderful videos.

Kelley's class for mitten

I have tried to make a fingerless glove for my brother-that one with small fingers-I wanted to make my own pattern using my own needle size and what I have from yarns. Of course I didn't find pattern suit my needing, So I have decided to start make my own.

I wanted to know according what I can divide for the fingers, and different method to make the thumb. Of course I have some books about how to make your own pattern, but I am not still comfortable with anyone. So what I am doing is I am trying to make a basic pattern and figure out the rules from this pattern.

To be more precises it is my dream to make my own pattern using the stitches I like, and Using any yarn I want to use, or any needle size.
My friend Barb called that intention and passion a potential designing.-I don't call it like this. I always tell her that I just like to play with things I learn, and make things according my taste, and style. In addition , I like to understand what is behind any thing I learn.

I have searched for something in Youtube site, and found these lovely series of lessons from lady Kelley trying to explain how to make a mitten. what I really like about her lessons is she have not a pattern; she makes her own and put her hand on the mitten to tell us how she define the stitches for thumb, the distance which she should to knit until decreasing stage ....etc. During this she explains the two method for thumb. Thanks for her so so much. Hope to see or read something like this for the gloves.

My toes sock with embroidery touch

I have finished one of its pair, and I am going to finish the other one. LOL

Close look at embroidery

As usual when I make plain sock; I prefer to put my embroidery touch. That is what I did with my toes sock. I have use four different embroidery stitches to finish my sock.

workshop of my sock

I have made this sock with circular needles size 2mm, and 2.5 mm. This is my first sock with circular needle. I actually prefer double pointed needles, but wanted to discover working sock with circular needle too. It is really good to work with circular ; it was not difficult as I thought.
This also toes sock . My first toes one.

Cable hat for my great Fan

I have made this hat for my great fan-LOL it is my brother -Ahmed. He loves my knitted work, he also was the first one who wore my initial work. They were very small things. Hats with simple stitch and no shape, scarves with very simple stitch and bad finishing. He wore them with love and appreciation too. He also wore them , and feel they are worth. That is why I want to make him really worth pieces. I think I will.

Workshop for the hat ( and little story)

This hat is a Japanese charted pattern. I have made it use double pointed needles size 3.5mm, and 3mm. I have adjusted the pattern to fit my yarn, and the size needle I have used. I have a long story with knitting. My mom has taught me how to knit when I was little child; she has taught me how to knit, purl, and how to pick up the dropped stitch. I didn't know how to make anything from knitting , I also didn't know how to shape any piece until four years later-this was my first stage with knitting. The second stage was four to five years later when I have learned English.

First, I saw many many sites have explained knitting in English . I loved this and wanted to learn how to knit again, but it was really so difficult. I have countered some difficulties -one of them was I knew each word in the written pattern , but I didn't understand the meaning-LOL oh it made me feel crazy. Yes I didn't understand the written pattern because I didn't know that there is another step I should to know; it was the structure, and arrangement of the English sentence. This obstacle was my first step to try with the charted pattern in knitting and crochet. So I have started with the abbreviations, and the symbols which matche with them. I have started with crochet, then with knitting.

After I improved my English-a bit- I understood the written pattern too, and made many of them. Now I prefer a charted pattern more, and consider it an amazing tool for anyone who really wants to knit or crochet; it also saves times, and make us avoid many mistakes. In addition it eliminates the obstacles of any other language. Anyone can knit whatever pattern he/she wants.

There is something else about charted pattern, and its symbols specially knitting symbols. I have tried to figure out the meaning beyond the symbols - why specific symbol means to slip two and put them in front then purl two and then knit two on the cable? what was in the mind of the person who made this symbols to indicate a specific meaning? Why I am trying to find out sense beyond the symbols ? To remember it. I have a problem to keep something in mind if I don't understand what beyond it. There are some symbols really easy to know why they indicate specific meaning, but there are some really difficult -for me- to know what beyond them. I will try to know.
